With the exit of the car industry, and offshoring of many other manufacturing industries, the Australian Manufacturing Industry looked dire and in need of some intensive care.  However it has proven itself to be more resilient and innovative than first thought.  The recent Commonwealth Bank report in this sector indicates that the growth in the Manufacturing Industry is improving solidly and is now in expansion phase and growing.   This is a very positive outcome for the Australian Economy.  For more information visit Commonwealth Bank Manufacturers PMI report...

We recently had the opportunity to value assets in the brand new Studios 301 in Sydney.  Some magic has been done here with the construction of a world class facility that has worked with current global stars such as Muse, Kanye West, Coldplay, Lana Del Rey, Matt Corby, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, Powderfinger, Bluejuice and Xavier Rudd.   The history component of the project is that some of the equipment we valued came out of the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.   The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Hollies are just some of the bands that have recorded on the very same machines in Studios 301, that our budding artists in Australia are now using. Among the assets there is state of the art digital mastering equipment, analogue mixing consoles and speakers that can punch out a clean crisp tune louder than a jet engine! Also part of the offering at Studios 301, is the capacity to digitise old “tapes” and all other classic audio mediums retaining more Australian music and sound history for Libraries and various government institutions. If you are interested, you can even host your corporate events on the site, do tours of the facility……and maybe even belt out a few tunes! www.studios301.com    ...

The Liquid Asset team and I were recently invited to conduct a charity auction for the Inaugural Wenona Foundation Sports Lunch. The guest speakers were Mahalia Murphy and Sharnie Williams of the Australian Women’s Rugby Sevens team, historical winners of the first ever gold medal for Women’s rugby at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Listening to these young women speak about their journey to being elite sportswomen and their involvement in sport was simply inspirational at all levels. Their humble approach to their sport and their lives was a reminder for why we should all strive to be the best we can, not only in our chosen fields, but to be the best person we could possibly be. It was a great pleasure for the Liquid Asset team and myself to be able to run both the live auction and the silent auction for Wenona Girls School and its parent community. To assist in raising money for a means tested scholarship which will enable less privileged girls to attend this highly regarded school was a very rewarding experience!...
